Central and Farmington Schools Compete to Support Special Olympics

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Central and Farmington School Districts are teaming up for a good cause during their football matchup Friday night.

Central Superintendent Dr. Zech Payne says the two districts will compete in a fundraiser called Cover the Cruiser to benefit Special Olympics.

Dr. Payne adds that at the end of the day, the real win is supporting the athletes.

He says Special Olympic athletes compete in Unified Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, and Track & Field, and the donations raised will help cover expenses such as uniforms, transportation, and food.

The football game,  and the fundraising challenge, will take place at Farmington High School on Friday, October 24.
