Richard Rethor Macke was born on February 1, 1945 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri the son of Rethor and Juanita Macke and passed away on April 29, 2025 at Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Betty Craft, Martha Minton, and Wilma Hawkins.
Richard is survived by his wife, Alice (Cook) Macke, whom he was united in marriage to on May 28, 1966 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, two sons Scott Macke of Wardsville, Missouri and RJ Macke of Maumelle, Arkansas, and three grandchildren. Richard is also survived by one sister Elwanda Compas of Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Richard was a member of the Fredericktown Christian Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, using his tractor, and especially the civic duties he was involved with including being the Mayor of Fredericktown, a volunteer fireman for Fredericktown Fire Department, the Building Inspector for the city of Fredericktown, an Army National Guardsman, a Deacon for the Fredericktown Christian Church, and a volunteer school bus driver. Richard was also a charter member for the Fredericktown Eagles and the Fredericktown Elks.
