Paula Ann Wampler

Paula Ann Wampler of Farmington passed away April 29, 2025, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 76.  She was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri, on February 7, 1949, to the late Donald Greene and Marie (Thompson) Greene.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donita Cash, and an aunt, Norma Greene.

Paula grew up in Bonne Terre and was a member of the last graduating class of Bonne Terre High School in 1967.    On May 12, 1973, she married Ray Lynn Wampler.  She worked as a transcriptionist in the admitting department at the Farmington State Hospital for eight years until the time her first son was born.  At that time, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom until her two sons were older.  She returned to her profession as a medical transcriptionist at Medical Arts and Farmington Regional Medical Center, now Parkland Health Care, retiring in 2010.  She was an avid reader and loved doing puzzle books.  She cared for her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them.  

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Ray Lynn Wampler;  son, Gordon Wampler, and son Todd (Miranda) Wampler; three grandchildren, Ryan, Lynnlee, and Ty Wampler; a nephew, Doug Brewster;  numerous cousins and extended family.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5 – 8 p.m.   Visitation will resume on Saturday morning at 8:30 until the time of the funeral, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel.  A private family interment will immediately follow the service.  Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home.      View the tribute video and share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
