Washington County Sheriff's Office Handles Nearly 4,000 Calls in Second Quarter

Washington County, Mo. (KFMO) - The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a total of 3,998 calls for service during the second quarter of 2025, covering April through June. Remarkably, those calls, ranging from emergencies and criminal investigations to routine assistance, were handled by just two deputies per 12-hour shift, covering all 762 square miles of Washington County.

Sheriff Dwayne Reed praised the efforts of his team, saying, “It is truly a team effort. Every member of this Office plays a vital role in keeping our community safe. Each contribution is essential on the front lines and behind the scenes.”

With increasing demands and limited staffing, the Sheriff's Office continues to emphasize the need for community awareness and support. To help improve communication and public access, the Office is developing a mobile app expected to launch within approximately six weeks. As of now, there is no official website, and no established timeline for one.
