Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two Jefferson County men are facing serious charges after allegedly robbing an undercover Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office detective during a drug sting near the Festus Public Library.
34-year-old Brandon Maurice Jackson, of Festus, and 36-year-old Travis Mitchell Wallace, of Crystal City, were each charged June 6 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. The incident happened June 5 outside the library when Wallace and Jackson allegedly tried to steal $250 the detective planned to use in a meth purchase. Court documents say Wallace tried to grab the cash, while Jackson reportedly threatened the detective with a knife.
Both men fled the scene but were later arrested. They are being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail.
