Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A crash in Washington County Saturday evening sent two people to the hospital after a vehicle failed to stop at an intersection.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident happened around 6:46 p.m. at MO-21 and MO-32. Troopers say a 2010 Kia Sedona, driven by 64-year-old man from Cadet, accelerated through the intersection without stopping at a posted stop sign. The vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, striking a large rock before becoming airborne. It then hit a mailbox, an electric keypad, and an electric gate.
The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. An 86-year-old female passenger from Potosi received minor injuries and was transported to Parkland Health Center in Farmington. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
