Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:40 p.m. at MO-141 and 13th Street when a 2015 Nissan Altima, driven by a 21-year-old woman from Fenton, attempted to turn left onto southbound MO-141 from Old Route 141 and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A 2020 Chevrolet Sonic, driven by a 71-year-old man from High Ridge, struck the side of the Altima. A third vehicle, a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 35-year-old man from House Springs, was unable to avoid the crash and struck the rear of the Sonic. The Altima overturned in the collision and was totaled, along with the Sonic. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The driver of the Altima suffered minor injuries, while the Sonic’s driver sustained moderate injuries. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by EMS. The driver of the Equinox was not injured and was able to drive his vehicle from the scene. All involved were wearing seat belts.
