Teen Driver Crosses Center Line, Causing Two-Vehicle Crash Near Bonne Terre

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in St. Francois County left one woman hospitalized with moderate injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 2:35 p.m. on Old Bonne Terre Road near Wildwood Acres Road. Troopers say a 16-year-old female from Bonne Terre was driving a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when she crossed the center of the roadway and struck a westbound 2020 Volkswagen head-on. The 51-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, also from Bonne Terre, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

The teen driver was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and was not listed as injured in the crash report.
