St. Francois County Sheriff's Department Applying for Opioid Funding

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Sheriff's Department has received permission from the county commission to apply for opioid settlement funding, as the latest wave of applications comes around.

Lt. Mike Ryan told commissioners this week, that the department would apply for funds to pay wages and benefits for the Residential Substance Abuse (RSAT) program jail navigator position, and to purchase a new K-9, with the total coming in at just over $110,000.

Ryan explains that part of those funds would be used to pay the jail navigator if a seperate RSAT grant is not available.

If the department is granted the funds, Ryan says the RSAT program would be fully funded.

Applications for Phase Three of opioid funding are due May 31, 2025. The application can be found on the county's website, sfcgov.org.
