Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A small but organized storm cell that passed through parts of Jefferson County late Friday afternoon produced a funnel cloud, according to the National Weather Service in St. Louis.
The storm developed shortly after 5 p.m. and impacted areas around Arnold and Imperial. Forecasters say the cell formed along a boundary, which helped it remain organized and briefly take advantage of some modest low-level wind shear. As a result, the storm began to rotate and produced a small funnel cloud.
NWS meteorologists confirmed the funnel cloud after reviewing radar data and local reports. The funnel was visible but did not touch down, and no tornado warning was issued.
There were no reports of damage or injuries, and the storm quickly moved out of the area.
