Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - St. Francois County's first county park, Owl Creek Park, will have a grand opening and ribbon cutting this Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the park's Phase 1 Trail System.
Associate St. Francois County Commissioner, David Kater, says the trail began when it was cut out of the wilderness by Associate Commissioner Kerry Buckley.
According to Kater, Phase 1 also includes an access area from the parking lot. Phase 2 will include nearly another mile's worth of trails. Phase 3 would add a boat ramp and aquatic, or water trail.
More parking and a playground will be added in the future as well.
This Wednesday morning's grand opening and ribbon cutting for Owl Creek Park takes place at 11 a.m. The entrance to the park is located at 198 Landfill Road, in Park Hills.
