New Jefferson County Crime Lab at Pevely

Pevely, Mo. (KFMO) - A new Crime Lab for Jefferson County is being located in Pevely. Jefferson County Sheriff, Dave Marshak, says it's being added to the county's bulk evidence buidling that's already located at the site.

According to Marshak, the crime lab is needed for several reasons, including the need for timely lab results.

Marshak explains sometimes the patrol's need to prioritize cases can also hold up lab results. Marshak adds with the new lab his department, and surrounding jurisdictions, will benefit with the ability to get a quicker turnaround on evidence needed to secure charges.
