Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is urging hunters to register as soon as possible for the mandatory hunter safety course, ahead of the upcoming dove and archery deer seasons.
Dove season opens on September 1, 2025, followed by the archery deer season starting September 15, 2025. Classes, available from August through October, are filling up fast. MDC encourages early sign-up to ensure compliance and avoid the frustration of finding no available seats later on. While there are still openings now, postponing enrollment increases the risk of missing out on a required certification.
