Sedalia, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has officially kicked off the state’s America 250 celebration, marking the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, Kehoe proclaimed the event a “Great American Fair” and launched the Show-Me America 250 initiative. The program will celebrate Missouri’s role in U.S. history, from the Louisiana Purchase to westward expansion, through education, community engagement, and public events. Festivities begin at the fair with a special drone show and historic photo displays, culminating in a statewide celebration on July 4, 2026.
