Missouri Chamber Representative Speaks on Business Legislation at Farmington Chamber Luncheon

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Luke Reed, Director of Legislative Affairs for the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was the featured speaker at the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday, where he provided chamber members with a legislative update impacting businesses across the state.

Reed focused heavily on Proposition A, which he called “the biggest mandate on businesses in the last 20 years.” The measure would require employers to provide one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours an employee works.

Reed noted that the Missouri Chamber has been working to combat the effects of the proposition. He pointed to House Bill 567, which includes key changes to Proposition A, as a crucial piece of legislation. That bill is currently awaiting action on the desk of Governor Mike Kehoe.
