Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Jefferson County Sheriff, Dave Marshak is advising you to be cautious around the county's waterways this summer.
Marshak says after two men were rescued from the Big River at Rockford Park earlier this month, near High Ridge, people need to observe water safety and know their limitations when enjoying summer time water activities.
The sheriff's department plans to place a deputy at the park, as well as other water access points throughout the county this summer, to assist in any problems that may arise. A Madison Co., Il. man drowned last year at Rockford Park.
