Highway Patrol Assists with Security at Mizzou Football Season Opener

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Saturday was a big rivalry football game of the season for the University of Missouri in Columbia, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol once again played a key role in security efforts.

Corporal Dallas Thompson said the patrol’s presence at Mizzou games is a long-standing tradition, one of the agency’s oldest assignments.

Thompson noted that troopers have been working security at Mizzou football games since the 1930s, making it the patrol’s longest-running project. On the field, Mizzou defeated Kansas 42-31.
