Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-55 in Jefferson County

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A three-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 55, south of Route M ,sent four people to the hospital Friday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 7:30 p.m. when a 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 29-year-old man from Pacific, Missouri, struck the rear of a 2013 Dodge Dart in lane one of northbound I-55. The impact caused the Dodge Dart to veer off the left side of the highway, strike the center cable barrier, and overturn onto its roof.

Debris from the crash then hit a southbound 2016 Kia Sorento driven by a 66-year-old Farmington man. He was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene and was not injured.

The driver of the Dodge Dart, a 43-year-old woman from Festus, sustained moderate injuries. A 13-year-old boy from Blackwell and a 20-year-old man from Festus, both passengers in her car, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge Ram also sustained minor injuries.

All four were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. The Dodge Ram and Dodge Dart were totaled and towed from the scene. The Kia Sorento sustained minor damage.
