Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Farmington Street Department will temporarily close a section of Eastland Drive beginning Monday, October 20, 2025, to replace an existing culvert between Industrial Drive and Timberline Drive.
Public Works Director Larry Lacy said the project is expected to take two to three days to complete. “This will allow the Street Department time to remove the old culvert and install a new one,” Lacy said. “During the closure, residents may detour onto Schwartz Road to access Highway 32.”
The culvert replacement is part of Farmington’s stormwater system maintenance, which helps prevent street flooding during heavy rain events. Lacy also encouraged residents to do their part in keeping the system running efficiently by keeping leaves and grass clippings out of streets, maintaining vegetation to reduce runoff, and following city ordinances when building new homes or driveways.
