De Soto Woman Seriously Injured in Jefferson County Crash

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 72-year-old De Soto woman was seriously injured Monday afternoon after her vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:50 p.m. on westbound Flucom Road, west of Athena School Road. Troopers say the woman was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero when it veered off the right side of the road and collided with a tree.

She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
