Dangerous Heat Expected Early This Week

St. Francois County, Mo. (KFMO) - Last week's dangerous heat index values are expected to carry into this week, but relief is on the way.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis reports that much of eastern Missouri, including the Parkland area, should see heat index values carry into the triple digits Monday through Wednesday. An extreme heat warning is in effect for the St. Louis metro and surrounding counties, while a heat advisory remains in effect for areas further out.

The National Weather Service reports, however, that the heat wave is expected to end by Thursday, with values ranging from the mid-70s in areas such as Monroe City or Bowling Green, to the low 90s in Anapolis. The Parkland will see values ranging in the mid-80s.
