Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Fourth grader Ruby Mills of Central Elementary has shown that compassion and determination can come in small packages. Ruby recently raised an impressive $2,093 for the CSI, Central Snack Initiative Backpack Program, which provides weekend food support for students in need throughout the Central School District.
Ruby took the initiative by baking and selling homemade cookies around her community. Her efforts will ensure more than eight students receive nutritious food every weekend during the school year, a vital resource for families who need a helping hand.
The Central School District expressed pride and gratitude for Ruby’s heartwarming project, calling it a true example of how one person, no matter their age, can create positive change.
“We are so proud of Ruby and grateful to everyone in the community who continues to support the CSI Backpack Program,” the district said in a statement. “Together, we are keeping students nourished and ready to learn.”
If you’d like to support Ruby’s cause, donations can be made online through the Central School District website. Simply choose a building, enter your donation amount, and pay securely by credit card.
