St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Louis Cardinals are stepping up to the plate once again in the fight against hunger as they partner with Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance and Feeding Missouri for the 10th annual Home Run Against Hunger Food Drive. The event will take place on Sunday, May 4, from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., just before the Cardinals face off against the New York Mets.
Fans attending the game or visiting downtown are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation to help stock food pantries across the state. In return, each donor will receive a voucher good for two tickets to a 2025 Cardinals home game—limited to one voucher per person.
Donations can be dropped off in front of the Official Cardinals Team Store at the corner of 8th Street and Clark Avenue. Organizers note that while all non-perishable donations are appreciated, certain items are especially helpful to local pantries. These include canned meats, pasta, rice, canned soups, peanut butter, granola bars, fruit snacks, and hygiene essentials such as diapers and toilet tissue. Donors are asked to avoid glass containers.
All contributions will count toward a statewide donation total, which will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
According to Feeding Missouri, one in every seven people in Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois struggles with food insecurity. With the help of fans and community members, the Cardinals and their partners aim to make a lasting impact on hunger in the region.
